BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Foundation

How to Apply

The Foundation seeks to fund those programs and initiatives that are closely aligned with its mission and its Priority Funding Areas. The Foundation has developed a two-phase application process to make the review process more effective and efficient.  This process enables the Foundation to determine which programs are potentially the best matches for its priority funding areas.  Organizations interested in receiving funding from the Foundation are required to submit a two page Letter of Intent.  Once reviewed and if determined a good match, your organization will be invited to submit the full proposal at the request of the Foundation.

Who Can Apply

Only nonprofit organizations that have a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status as determined by the IRS, government agencies or educational/research institutions that are tax-exempt are eligible to submit a Letter of Intent.

The Foundation will not issue grants to individuals, religious activities, political campaigns or activities that influence legislation, groups seeking funds to purchase tickets or tables at fundraising events, membership drives, sports tournaments, raffles or auctions.

The Foundation will not accept a Letter of Intent from an organization that has an open grant on the date the Letter of Intent is due.

The Foundation will not accept but one Letter of Intent during a grant cycle from a non-profit organization.

The Foundation will not award a grant to another foundation.
